Architecture in the Services of Motoring
[31.7.2012] conference in Hradec Králové, on 20th to 21st September, 2012; in Liberec, on 22nd September, 2012
In the 1st half of the 20th century the automobile industry dramatically influenced the structure of colonizing and even the countryside. A new rapidly developing phenomenon also brought along a wide variety of charming expressions of architecture. This expert conference will map their birth and early development – the role of the architect and also builder, the impacts of motoring upon the character of towns and road system, the character of production and distribution of vehicles, a company and promoting strategy and mainly the variable construction structure of motoring services. The meeting aims to “opening” the up to the present time omitted topic of the specific construction heritage and to interconnecting the activities of professional public and motor sport enthusiasts...

▪ a guided tour of the thematic mini exhibition
▪ a social evening
21st September, 2012 in Hradec Králové
▪ a tour around the motoring and technical buildings (e.g. Palace Garage, the petrol station in Kukleny and Plotiště nad Labem, the tannery and car factory KAN, the Labe power station Hučák, etc.)
22nd September, 2012 in Liberec
▪ a ride for the applicants (up to 30 people) in the historic vehicles around the motoring buildings (e.g. Autohaus of Anton Eisenkolb, Grandgarage City, the Villa of Theodor Liebeg, etc.)
▪ the final meeting in The North Bohemian Museum in Liberec
